Anyone watching The Presidents Cup last week was witness to some superlative golf from the American team. With a score line bordering on embarrassing, the Americans romped home to victory. Was it that the International team was not up to the challenge? Partly I think thats the case. There was a few players who clearly didn't perform or bring the standard they have been displaying on the PGA Tour. However, my belief is that even if you added some of our stronger members of the European Ryder Cup team into that International team, the result would not be far different.
The American team finally look like they have found the unity and bond between their players they have been missing for so long. Also, their team is so young and so immensely talented, one could picture this team remaining like this for some time. Johnson, Speith, Fowler, Reed, the list goes on. They have such strength and depth now to their team, Thomas Bjorn will have lots to debate and consider over the next few months. Maybe the tide now has turned and an American dominance could finally resume. For the good of the Ryder Cup, I only see this as a positive for golf to keep both sets of spectators interested and for it to remain the biggest spectacle in golf.
